Mandawa, a princely state, is one of the finest small towns in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. The town, a veritable open art gallery, was founded by Thakur Nawal Singh, a descendant of Rao Shekha after whom the entire region is named.  The Mandawa Family's collection includes ceremonial costumes and precious arms with handles of jade.

The surging lanes and colorful bazaars with bright and cheerful folks make Bikaner an interesting experience to explore.

In the afternoon, explore Junagarh Fort which lies to the northeast of the walled old city of Bikaner. Raja Rai Singh, a general in Akbar’s army, built the fort in 1593. The most unusual feature of this fort is that it was built at ground level and not on high ground. Interestingly, it is one of the few forts in India that was never conquered - maybe its inconspicuousness proved to be its best defense!

Also visit the Jain temples of Bhandeshwar and Sandeshwar dedicated to the 23rd Jain Tirthankara, Parsavnathji. Built in the 16th century by the two brothers whose names they bear, these temples are remarkable for their colorful murals and the prolific use of gold leaf and mirrors, a rare feature in the Jain temples of Rajasthan.

Later, explore the City Palace, one of the largest palaces in the world, which stands on the bank of Lake Pichola. It is a massive series of palaces built at different times commencing from 1559. The balconies of the palace provide a panoramic view of the "Jag Niwas" (now the world famous Lake Palace Hotel). Maharana Udai Singh established his new capital, Udaipur in 1559 when he built the small City Palace on an overlooking ridge. Other buildings and structures soon mushroomed around the palace. Tour Length: 6 days

Day 1 Udaipur – Mumbai – Cochin (Fly)
Arrives Cochin by Jet Airways flight 9W-2103 from Udaipur via Mumbai
Depart Mumbai at 1340 hrs and arrives Cochin at 1525 hrs

Kochi (Colonial name is Cochin.) is a vibrant city situated on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, hailed as 'God's Own Country'. Its strategic importance over the centuries is underlined by the sobriquet Queen of the Arabian Sea. Informally, Cochin is also referred to as the Gateway to Kerala. This lovely seaside city is flanked by the Western Ghats on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west. Its proximity to the equator, the sea and the mountains provide a rich experience of a moderate equatorial climate. Strictly speaking, Cochin is a small town. But, Cochin has outgrown its original bounds and is now the general name given to much of the region adjoining the original town which now includes Cochin, Fort Kochi,  Mattanchery, Ernakulum and many other nearby towns and villages. Cochin is situated in Ernakulum district in the state of Kerala. Ernakulum is also the name of a town - the administrative capital of Ernakulum district - but, for all practical purposes Ernakulum and Cochin, generally, refers to the same place. Kochi is the arguably the ideal starting point for exploring the unfathomable diversity and beauty of Kerala, rated in the top three tourist destinations by the World Travel & Tourism Council and featured in National Geographic Traveler's '50 greatest places of a lifetime.

Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at Napier House. (B)

Day 2 Cochin
Morning after breakfast enjoy full day sightseeing of Cochin & visit Mattancherry Dutch Palace where a series of murals painted on wooden walls are the main attraction. Also visit the 16th century Jewish Synagogue and the Church of St. Francis. Vasco da Gama was originally buried in the church's cemetery. Walk around the Fort Cochin area and admire the Chinese fishing nets.

Chinese Fishing Nets: The Chinese fishing nets (Cheenavala) are distinctly unique to Cochin. It is believed that traders from the court of the Chinese ruler Kublai Khan introduced these nets here. Oddly, these nets are found only in Kochi, outside China! Many fishermen earn their livelihood by fishing using these massive nets. A whole stretch of the coast along Fort Kochi and Vypeen are dotted with these nets.

St. Francis Church, Fort Kochi: It is the oldest church built by Europeans in India. On his 3rd visit to Kerala, Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese trader, who reached India from Europe by sea, fell ill and died in Kochi. He was buried in the St. Francis Church. Later his remains were taken back to Portugal. In spite of that, his burial spot inside the church has been clearly marked out.

Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace): The Dutch Palace was originally built by the Portuguese. Later, in the 17th century, the Dutch modified it and presented it to the Raja of Kochi. Coronations of many Rajas of Kochi were held here. The palace has a fine collection of mural paintings depicting scenes from the Hindu epics Mahabharata and Ramayana. The palace is located in Mattancherry.

Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town: The synagogue, built in 1568, is magnificently decorated by Chinese tiles and Belgian chandeliers. Giant scrolls of the Old Testament can be found here. It is located near the Dutch Palace in Mattancherry.

Evening enjoy a Kathakali dance performance.

Enjoy a comfortable overnight at Napier House. (B)
